All About Shayla
Shayla Tharp (she/they) is an Actor and Voice-Over Artist originally from Iowa, USA. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre from California State University of Northridge, where she gained experience on both stage and television. Shayla further expanded her training by earning her MFA from the University of Essex, in London. Where she studied Theatre with a focus on Voice and Speech under esteemed vocal coaches Christina Gutekunst and Colin Sadler. Specializing in the General British dialect, Shayla brings precision, versatility, and authenticity to every project. She runs her own voice-over business, lending her voice to commercials, audiobooks, video games, and more. With a strong foundation in proper vocal technique for actors, she blends technical skill with storytelling finesse.
Before leaving London in 2024, she performed off the West End in the immersive production of Tony n Tina's Wedding. Now currently based in Los Angeles, Shayla is working with two-time Emmy winner Kristen Johnston, helping her prepare for the upcoming Warner Brothers sitcom, Leanne.
